Protocol

Specificity / Sensitivity

XRCC2 (E7M8Y) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total XRCC2 protein. By western blot, this antibody detects a 40 kDa band of unknown origin.

Species Reactivity:

Human

Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Lys267 of human XRCC2 protein.

Background

XRCC2 (X-ray repair cross-complementing protein 2) is one of five RAD51 paralogs that form two distinct complexes, BCDX2 (RAD51B, RAD51C, RAD51D, and XRCC2) and CX3 (RAD51C and XRCC3) (1). Along with RAD51, these complexes are crucial in the repair of DNA double-strand breaks through homologous recombination (2) and in response to DNA replication stress (3,4). XRCC2 expression and genetic polymorphisms are associated with the risk and prognosis of human cancer (5-10). In non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) XRCC2 reduces sensitivity to chemotherapy and radiation treatment (11).
