    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of murine TUFT1 protein.

    Background

TUFT1 (Tuftelin 1) is a secreted protein that is primarily expressed in the dental pulp and ameloblasts, the cells responsible for producing and secreting enamel matrix proteins during tooth development. The protein is involved in the formation of enamel crystals and plays a critical role both in tooth development and maintenance (1). Some studies have suggested that TUFT1 may play a potential role in disease. TUFT1 was shown to promote metastasis in pancreatic cancer by promoting EMT (2,3), and unregulated TUFT1 expression was shown to be associated with metastatic potential and a poor prognosis in breast cancer (4). TUFT1 has also been reported to play pro-tumorigenic roles in cancer types such as renal and gastric cancer (5,6).
