    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

SLC25A40 (E9C7Q) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total SLC25A40 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Lys330 of human SLC25A40 protein.

    Background

Members of the solute carrier 25 (SLC25) family transport molecules over the mitochondrial inner membrane (1,2). Mutations in these carriers often result in rare but severe pathologies (3). SLC25A39 and its paralogue SLC25A40 were found to be essential for mitochondrial import of glutathione, providing protection against oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction (4,5). Changes in SLC25A39 and SLC25A40 expression were found in cholestasis-associated renal injury and LPS-induced inflammation (6).
