    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

PDE12 (E2V7J) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total PDE12 protein. This antibody detects precursor and mature isoforms of PDE12 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse

The antigen sequence used to produce this antibody shares 100% sequence homology with the species listed here, but reactivity has not been tested or confirmed to work by CST. Use of this product with these species is not covered under our Product Performance Guarantee.

Species predicted to react based on 100% sequence homology:

    Bovine, Dog, Pig

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human PDE12 protein.

    Background

2',5'-phosphodiesterase 12 (PDE12) is a ubiquitously expressed enzyme localized to the mitochondrial matrix. The catalytic activity of PDE12 is, in part, responsible for degradation of 2',5'-oligoadenylate second messengers (1-4). Through its ability to degrade 2',5'-oligoadenylates, PDE12 is considered to be a negative regulator of the interferon-induced OAS/RNase L antiviral signaling pathway. Indeed, either inhibition of PDE12 activity or loss of PDE12 expression has been shown to protect cells from viral pathogens by upregulating the activity of the OAS/RNase L pathway (1).
