    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Pro290 of human NUP210 protein.

    Background

The nuclear pore complex (NPC) is a multi-subunit protein channel that spans the nuclear envelope and is responsible for the nucleocytoplasmic trafficking of RNA, proteins, and ribonucleoproteins (1,2). Nucleoporin 210 kDa (NUP210), also referred to as nuclear pore glycoprotein 210 (gp210), is one of the three integral membrane proteins of the NPC that have been shown to link the complex to the nuclear envelope (3,4). NUP210 is recruited in later stages of the nuclear pore assembly and is expressed in a cell-type specific manner (5). NUP210 expression has been shown to be induced during myogenic and neural differentiation, and its addition to NPCs is needed for activation of essential cell differentiation genes (6). It has also been shown that NUP210 is required for proper muscle structural gene expression at NPCs by acting as a scaffold for the Mef2C transcriptional complex (7). More recently, NUP210 was identified as a metastasis susceptibility gene for estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer (8).
