    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human MS4A7 protein.

    Background

Membrane-spanning 4-domains subfamily A member 7 (MS4A7) is a member of a class of MS4A genes encoding four transmembrane-spanning proteins (1,2). MS4A7 is involved in signal transduction as a component of a multimeric receptor complex. Expression of the MS4A7 gene is primarily restricted to microglia in the brain (3). Interestingly, MS4A7, as well as other members of the MS4A gene cluster, is genetically linked to late-onset Alzheimer’s disease, suggesting that MS4A-dependent microglia might contribute to neurodegenerative disease progression (4).
