    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

KLF5 (D7S3F) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total KLF5 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Monkey

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala167 of human KLF5 protein.

    Background

Kruppel-like factors (KLFs) are a family of zinc finger DNA-binding proteins that share homology to Kruppel transcription factor in Drosophila melanogaster (1). These transcription regulators play diverse roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, inflammation, and pluripotency (2). Various KLFs, including KLF5, are involved in cancer-related processes, such as epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), invasion, and metastasis (3-6). In addition, studies show that KLF5 deficiency specific to renal collecting duct epithelial cells impairs cardiac stress adaptation response coordinated by the heart and kidney (7).
