    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

IFI44L (E7A9V) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total IFI44L protein. This antibody detects an 18 kDa band of unknown origin in some cell lines.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Phe85 of human IFI44L protein.

    Background

IFI44L (interferon-induced protein 44-like) is a member of the IFI44 family of IFN-stimulated genes (ISG), which play a role in antiviral activity (1-5). IFI44L is induced by many viruses, including Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and Influenza A virus (IAV) (3,4). IFI44L may be involved in modulating innate immune responses to inflammation and inhibiting virus replication (1,3,4). IFI44L has been studied in relation to its antimicrobial activity and could be a potential prognostic marker for M. tuberculosis treatment (5). IFI44L may also play a suppressive role in Met/Src signaling in human hepatocellular carcinoma (2).
