EZHIP Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total EZHIP protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala495 of human EZHIP protein. Antibodies are purified by peptide affinity chromatography.

    Background

EZH inhibitory protein (EZHIP), also called CXorf67 or Catacomb, is a protein discovered in aggressive posterior fossa A ependymomas (1-3). EZHIP contains a highly conserved sequence surrounding a methionine near its C-terminus which mimics the activity of the oncohistone protein H3K27M, and allows it to bind EZH2 and inhibit PRC2 function to lower H3K27me2/3 levels (2-4). EZHIP has also been shown to play a regulatory role in developing sperm and oocytes (5).
