    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

CCL18 (F9S6V) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total CCL18 protein. This antibody does not cross-react with CCL3/MIP-1α or CCL4 proteins.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human CCL18 protein.

    Background

C-C motif chemokine ligand 18 (CCL18, PARC, MIP-4, AMAC-1, DC-CK1) is a member of the CC chemokine family involved in signaling and coordinating immune responses (1-3). CCL18 is a secreted protein, primarily expressed by macrophages, monocytes, and dendritic cells (1-3). Th2-associated anti-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-4, IL-13, and IL-10 can polarize macrophages into an M2 phenotype, which induces CCL18 expression (3,4). In cancer, tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) may secrete large amounts of CCL18, causing an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, which can lead to cancer immune evasion (5).
