    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human CCDC22 protein.

    Background

Coiled-coil domain-containing protein 22 (CCDC22) is a highly conserved protein that harbors an N-terminal calponin homology-like (NN-CH) domain and a C-terminal coiled-coil domain. CCDC22 is a core subunit of the COMMD/CCDC93/CCDC22 (CCC) protein complex, which also consists of CCDC93 and any one of ten COMMD proteins. The CCC complex, which is a subcomplex of the commander complex, plays a key role in protecting the stability and promoting the endosomal recycling of cell surface transmembrane proteins, such as integrins, LDLR, and the ATP7A copper transporter (1-3). Research studies have also demonstrated that as part of a ubiquitin ligase complex, CCDC22 activates proinflammatory NF-κB signaling by promoting the ubiquitin-dependent degradation of IκB proteins (4).
