    Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human ANKRD15 protein.

    Background

    ANKRD15 (ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 15, KANK1) belongs to the Kank family of proteins, which contain multiple ankyrin repeat domains and are essential for crosstalk between actin and microtubules (1). ANKRD15 was initially identified as a potential tumor suppressor for renal cell carcinoma and has since been linked to gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, and oral squamous carcinoma (1,2). The protein regulates actin polymerization and cell motility and has two major alternatively spliced transcripts with different promoters and several other possible transcripts (3). Loss-of-function mutations have since been linked to congenital cerebral palsy and other neurodevelopmental disorders (3,4).
