    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

ACAT2 (E1L8V) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total ACAT2 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Monkey

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Val216 of human ACAT2 protein.

    Background

Acetyl-CoA acetyltransferase 2 (ACAT2), also known as cytosolic acetoacetyl-CoA thiolase, plays a role in regulating lipid metabolism (1). It catalyzes the synthesis of acetoacetyl-CoA from two acetyl-CoA molecules, which is later converted into steroids (2).
