    Storage

    Store lyophilized at -20ºC, desiccated. In lyophilized form, the chemical is stable for 24 months. Once in solution, store at -20ºC and use within 1 month to prevent loss of potency. Aliquot to avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

    Background

    MCC-950 (sodium salt), also known as CRID3, is a potent and selective NOD-like receptor (NLR) family pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inhibitor. NLRP3 is an inflammasome-forming NLR that activates caspase-1, leading to maturation of IL-1β and IL-18 (1). MCC-950 (sodium salt) inhibits IL-1β production in mouse bone marrow-derived macrophage (BMDM) cells with an IC50 value of 7.5 nM (2). The NLRP3 inflammasome is involved in different diseases such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), multiple sclerosis (MS), type 2 diabetes, and atherosclerosis, making MCC-950 (sodium salt) an important compound when studying different autoinflammatory and autoimmune diseases (2,3).
